Reason for Delaying Italy work visa for foreign workers:

Italy has decided to delay timelines for foreign nationals to submit applications for being on the list of 151,000 registered this year. 

 

The first application for a work permit can be submitted from March 18- 25, 2024. The application dates would be divided into categories: 

• Seasonal workers who would be staying in Italy for a certain period can apply for an Italy work Permit from March 25, 2024
• Non-Seasonal workers can apply for their application for Italy work permit from March 18, 2024
• Other non-seasonal workers can apply for their Italy work permit from March 21, 2024.

 

Although these three categories will be able to apply for work permits on different dates, the Italian government has allocated 89,050 spots for them. 

 

Non-seasonal workers will be allocated 61,250 quota spots for work permits, and an additional 700 places will be issued for self-employed foreign workers. 

 

Work permits under this quota would be served to those who would apply first and be able to secure a position, providing they meet all the requirements. 

 

All the applications are mostly filled out on the same day within a couple of hours. On the application window opening day, Italian workers were able to make requests to foreign workers in the agriculture, tourism, and hotel industries. 

 

The previous application request went up to 82,550 requests for foreign workers.The highest numbers of foreign nationals were from Morocco, Albania, Senegal, and Pakistan. Currently, Italy has a demand for doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists.
