Abstract: Canada will be welcoming 471,000 foreign nationals migrating to Canada.

The pace of immigration to Canada has been picking up since September 2022 with the number of newcomers arriving in the country increasing by three times compared to the figure of new arrivals in August 2022.

The latest data by IRCC or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada shows international individuals coming to Canada increased by 30.7%, that is, 44,496 new arrivals in September, compared to 34,050 new arrivals in August 2022.

Increased number of migrants to Canada in 2022

In the first 9 months of 2022, Canada welcomed 353,840 international individuals by issuing them Canada PR or permanent residency. It would help the country in reaching a record-breaking figure of 471,787 new permanent residents in 2022.

The Immigration Levels Plan 2022-2024 of Canada had set an immigration target of 431,645 newcomers to arrive in Canada in 2022.
