Highlights:500 start-up visa candidates acquired Canada Permanent residency in January 

  • Over the previous month, Canada start-up visas expanded by 58.1 per cent in January.
  • This year, January’s level of immigration was 880 per cent higher than the 50 per cent resident who arrived in Canada in 2023.
  • 5,880 new permanent residents will migrate to Canada, four times more than last year by the end of this year.
  • British Columbia and Ontario remain the most popular destinations for Start-up visas.

Details about Canada Start-up visa:

The Canada Start-up visa program launched in 2015 only saw 55 immigrant entrepreneurs come to Canada. In 2016, the number doubled to 110 permanent residents and later on rose up to 22.7 per cent.

Ontario and British Columbia remained the most popular destinations for SUV immigrants. In the first month of this year, British Columbia received 170 new permanent residents and Ontario received 275 new permanent residents through the program.
