Overview:

According to the figures compared to 2021, a high number of new permanent residents have arrived through this program in the first five months of 2022 and with the help of TR to PR Pathway, the applicants are made eligible for Open Work Permits if their temporary status in Canada expires before their application is finalized.

The latest numbers up to mid-July have reported 51,392 applications in the waiting line specifically for the TR to PR Pathway.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have planned to agree on a few things under the program, which are mentioned below:

• 20,000 applications for temporary workers in the healthcare sector
• 30,000 applications for temporary workers in other selected essential occupations, and
• 40,000 applications for international students who graduated from a Canadian institution

IRCC accepted limitless applications from French speakers through each of the three categories.
