The recent data of the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) from May 2022, discloses the arrival of 41,625 new permanent residents to Canada through the family sponsorship programs.
The family sponsorship applications have suddenly risen to 65.1 percent to hit 81,420 for the year and open the doors for record-high numbers in 2022.

Canada’s family sponsorship programs are on the right path to invite a record number of new permanent residents in 2022 as long as the movement of the first five months of this year continues.
The recent data of the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) from May 2022, discloses the arrival of 41,625 new permanent residents to Canada through the family sponsorship programs.
If the same movement is projected out for 2022, the country would see 99,900 new permanent residents under family sponsorships this year, increasing to 9.4 percent over the previous record of 91,300 new permanent residents 2019.

Under Family Sponsorship Programs, the spouses and common-law partners who enter Canada are allowed to work under the Spousal Work Permit Pilot Program and this program is allows the spouses and partners to work during their immigration applications are being processed.
It is a must for the eligible candidates to be in Canada and in the process of being sponsored for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law partner class. These candidates must also have valid temporary status as a worker, student, or visitor.
The sponsors sign a contract with Canada’s immigration authorities to recompense the government for any social assistance payments made to the sponsored person, under the sponsorship programs. These sponsors remain indebted to the undertaking agreement for the total period of the contract, despite the change of circumstances such as separation, marital breakdown, divorce, or financial change in circumstances.
If a spouse, conjugal partner or common-law partner or even a sponsor is having to sign an undertaking to repay the provincial or federal governments, from the date of becoming a permanent resident for the period of three years.
Considering a child under the age of 19 years, of the common-law partner, sponsor or spouse, or conjugal partner, the responsibility starts from the day that the child becomes a Canadian permanent resident for a period of 10 years or until the child ages 25 years.
For a dependent child over 19 years, the responsibility begins on the day that the dependent child becomes a permanent resident, for a period of three years.

In the case of parents and grandparents, the sponsorship responsibility prolongs for a period of 20 years from the date of which the family class member becomes a permanent resident with a duration of 10 years.
