A new initiative by Alberta PNP

The AAIP (Alberta Advantage Immigration Program) is prepared to launch the new EOI system on September 30. The AAIP stream recently decided not to move ahead with the left-over monthly application for 2024.

 

After completing the EOI submission, the worker is nominated through a specific selection process. AAIP will invite selected candidates from that pool to apply based on candidate ranking and provincial labor market needs and priorities. The AAIP new system would allow continuing accepting the EOI.

 

Here are the numbers of applications accepted by Rural Renewal Stream, Tourism and Hospitality Stream and Alberta Opportunity Stream, are as follows:

AAIP invited to apply for Accelerated Tech Pathway was done through the existing pool. Here are details of the application accepted by the province:

AAIP will also launch a new PR immigration program for foreign nationals looking to work in Canada as police officers. The eligible professions who can qualify for this stream are:

 

• Investigative occupations and other Police investigators
• Non-commissioned and Commissioned police officers and occupations related to the public protection services
• Specialized law enforcement occupations

 

In 2023, Alberta welcomed 57,585 new permanent residents, 59,995 temporary foreign workers under the International Mobility Program (IMP), and 20,415 through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). The PNP also welcomed 41,950 foreign students in 2023.

Alberta Advantage Immigration Program

Foreign nationals who want to gain PR in Alberta can apply through AAIP streams such as the Federal Express Entry system's Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program, the Federal Skilled Trades (FST) program, the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and the PNPs of the 10 Canadian provinces.

 

Alberta invites skilled worker applications under the Alberta Opportunity Stream, the Express Entry system, the Accelerated Tech Pathway, and the Rural Renewal Stream.

 

AAIP has a two-step immigration system, composed of an application for nomination to the provincial government and – for those nominated – an application for permanent residence to the federal government.

Rural Entrepreneur Stream	Designed to nominate entrepreneurs who want to build or buy an existing business in Alberta’s rural community.
