Paying the fees comes as a step after you go through the following steps:

• You fill out an application for a Canada PR visa after you receive an invitation to do so from IRCC. You have 60 days to apply for a PR visa.
• As you apply online, there’s a list of documents to submit along with your application. These documents establish the claims you are making in your application form. These documents must be scanned and uploaded on the online portal dedicated to this purpose.

About the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)

The RPRF is applicable to most Canada PR visa applications. It has to be paid before you become a permanent resident in Canada. It’s advised to pay this fee while submitting your application for a Canada PR visa. This will help avoid delays later.

In case you withdraw your application or IRCC rejects your application, the RPRF will be refunded to you. Out of all fee items, RPRF is the only one eligible for a refund after IRCC starts processing your application.

RPRF isn’t applicable to:

• sponsorship applications for adopted children
• the dependent children of a principal applicant/sponsor
• protected persons, including applicants with eligibility on humanitarian and compassionate grounds as well as convention refugees
• sponsorship applications for an orphaned sister, brother, nephew, niece, or grandchild

About the biometrics fee

The biometrics fee is incurred for the purpose of collecting fingerprints as well as a digital photo. This fee is payable in most cases when submitting an application for a Canada PR visa.

Once you pay the biometrics fee along with your completed application, you will receive a letter of confirmation. This letter indicates that you have to give your biometrics and tells you where to give it at. When you arrive to give your biometrics, you have to produce this letter.
