• The GS has planned to commence student visa application after 23rd March 2023.
• The student visa application before 23rd March 2024 will be processed per the existing arrangements.
• The Student Guardian visa applicants still have to provide GTE requirements.

Details of Genuine Student Requirement:

The GS will help the government understand the students who want to be a part of Australia. GS requirement for international students will aim to identify students with genuine intention to obtain a quality education in Australia.

 

The GS requirement will replace the 300-word statement in the student visa application with targeted questions. These questions will provide a clear context of the applicant and their reason for studying in Australia.

 

The question would be related to:

• The student's current circumstances are family, community, employment, and current situation.
• A solid reason to study in Australia and why you chose that course
• How will the course benefit the applicant?
• Applicants study history
• Applicants holding a visa other than a student visa, explaining the reason for applying for a student visa, and providing any other relevant information about the applicant.

The required applicant will revise the student visa to confirm that they:

 

• They understood the meaning of being a genuine student and the purpose of studying in Australia.
• Abide by the Australian government's rules and understand the required regulations of student visa conditions.
• Though post-study pathways can lead to permanent migration, only a limited number of graduates will be eligible.
