Australia removed Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL), which was used to rank skilled visa applications. The step has been taken because a wide range of occupations was included in the list. Australia skill shortage increased between 2021 and 2022. The country is also facing the challenge of Teachers and Nurses shortage. It is expected that by 2025, there will be a need for 4,000 teachers.

The Department of Home Affairs revealed that skilled visas for the health and education sectors will be processed within 3 days.
New priorities will be given to the skilled visas available in the table below. No PMSOL is required.
