The Australia Visa system must attract high-end tech talent globally according to Alan Tudge the Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs Minister. He has once again started the discussion focusing on Australia Visa reforms. Aland Tudge made these remarks while addressing the Business Council of Australia this week. He elaborated that the fresh visa system is a transition in the Australia Skilled Migration program. It now focuses on the shortage in labor market than skill level, added Tudge. It must be ensured that Australia has access to the best IT talents globally said Alan Tudge. There is an international war for high-end talent owing to the digital disruption in all sectors. We need Australia Visa system to support this, added the Minister. The Federal and Regional Skills Lists in Australia will be thus complemented with diverse extra modified arrangements said Tudge. Fresh ways of attracting the global tech talents to Australia are being piloted said the Minister. There is an international war for talents with other nations. The livability of Australian cities will ensure that the nation remains an appealing destination, he added. It must be ensured that the process of obtaining Australia PR for tech talent is as simple as possible, added Tudge. This can be achieved through the Global Talent Scheme, said the Minister, as quoted by the ZD Net. Mike Cannon-Brookes the Atlassian Chief said that Australia must shift its thinking about skilled immigration. This is required to unlock the potential of tech firms to create jobs he added. The Government must help Australian firms to attract global talents. It must not shut their doors, on the contrary, said Brookes.
