Australia NSW adds new region Central West to SOL

Australia NSW – New South Wales has announced that a new region Central West has been added to the 2018-19 Regional Skilled Occupation List.  Till now, there were 7 regions in its SOL. Now, a new 8th region called Central West has been added.

Below are the 8 regions in the NSW Regional Skilled Occupation List for 2018-19:

New South Wales (except Wollongong, the Central Coast Newcastle, and Sydney)
Queensland (except the Gold Coast and Greater Brisbane Area)
Victoria (except Melbourne Metropolitan Area)
Western Australia (except Perth and its surrounding area)
South Australia Entire State
Tasmania Entire State
Northern Territory Entire Territory
Central West Entire Territory

Every single Regional area of New South Wales has its own SOL, as quoted by the Home Affairs Gov AU.  It also has an individual process of application, criteria for Regional Sponsorship, and fee.

The new and 8th region added by NSW Central West has an area of 63 thousand sq km and has 177,000 residents. There are 11 Local Government Areas – Weddin, Parkes, Orange, Oberon, Lithgow, Lachlan, Forbes, Cowra, Cabonne, Blayney, and Bathurst. It is renowned for excellent agriculture produce, wine, and food.

 A new website highlighting investment opportunities for overseas investors in the Central West has also been launched. It is the Invest NSW Central West and a program of RDA Central West. This initiative brings together the data of Australian Bureau of Statistics as well as demographic and economic data. It offers a snapshot of the local economies, major industry sectors, and regional economy.
