Australia has conducted the first Skill Select invitation round on 11th July for the program year 2019-20. Immigration intake for Australian PR has been reduced which is evident in the lesser number of invitations being issued.
1000 invitations were issued for the Subclass 189 Visa and 100 for the Subclass 489 Visa. The Subclass 489 Visa will soon be replaced by the Subclass 491 Visa of Australia.
The minimum cut-off for non-pro-rata occupations has remained the same at 80 points. The wait time is around 2 months for these occupations.
The minimum cut-off for the Subclass 489 Visa was 80 points. There is a wait time of 6 months for this visa.
Pro-rata occupations are the ones where the demand is more than the number of visa places available. The minimum cut-off for these occupations is generally higher than the non-pro-rata ones.
