Australia Skill Select update for September 2018
The latest Skill Select Invitation Round was conducted by the Department of Home Affairs on September 11, 2018.
The required score for an invitation for the Subclass 189 Visa remained at 70 for non-pro rata occupations. The waiting time saw a slight increase to 12 weeks.
Majority of the pro rata occupations remained unchanged. However, the score required for the occupation of Electronics Engineer went down to 70 from 75 in the latest round. However, the wait time was significantly longer at 10 months.
The September round saw 2490 invitations being issued in the Subclass 189, as per SBS News. 10 invitations were issued in the Subclass 489, which is the same as the August round.

The Australian Government is currently considering giving regional migration priority as metropolitan cities like Melbourne and Sydney are struggling with congestion. It plans to add more occupations to the Regional Occupation List (ROL) which currently supports the regional sponsored programs.
More invitations are expected to be issued by the Govt. to Skilled Regional Provisional Subclass 489 applicants in the future.
