Australia has made a new announcement for its citizens/permanent residents. As per the new announcement, Australia is planning to remove the ban imposed on overseas travel for Australian citizens/permanent residents from November 2021. The lifting of restrictions will be done when 80% of the Australian population aged 16 years or above gets fully vaccinated.

This was announced by Scott Morrison, the Australian Prime Minister. Australia has imposed some of the toughest COVID-19 related restrictions amongst the world democracies. Lately, there has been a lot of arguments pushing for exemptions from the travel ban which made it impossible to leave the country.

Australia had allowed a select few like essential workers and government officials to leave Australia. But the country has not yet allowed tourism as a reason for crossing the border.

It has however not yet been declared when international travelers will be allowed to visit Australia.
