This decision was authorized by IRCC or Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. IRCC is planning to expand the pool for e-Application candidates.
Planning has started to expand e-Application for minors less than 18 years of age. It is targeting the implementation of this policy in Fall 2022. It applies to minors and adults who submit their applications together as a group or a family.
IRCC has declared that after the implementation of the e-application, it will start to develop "additional functionality for representatives." At present, representatives only help in preparing online applications for people who wish to migrate to Canada. They cannot submit on behalf of the client. The representatives can communicate on the applicant's behalf during the application submission process with the IRCC.
In November 2021, IRCC changed the system for clients to submit their Use of Representatives - IMM 5476 form. It allows them to avail of the services the representative provides to prepare their applications. IRCC has also updated the questions used for screening applicants to facilitate clients who are working with representatives to submit their online applications.
IRCC had claimed that citizenship applications would be available online for families and minors later in 2021, and it would be available for representatives in 2022.
IRCC launched an online portal to apply for proof of citizenship for applicants in November 2021.
