The Canadian international students have additional benefits for studying in the country along with the renewal of its Express Entry draws for Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) candidates in early July.

"A new temporary policy will provide an opportunity for the recent international graduates with an expiring temporary status to prolong their stay in Canada, which in return will help them continue to acquire work experience and gain a better chance at being eligible for permanent residency," announced Sean Fraser, the immigration minister of Canada.

Beginning this summer, the international students with a post-graduation work permit expiring between January and December 2022 will be eligible for an extra open work permit with a validity of 18 months. "We are looking for an easy and swift process for this on which the further details will be made available in the coming weeks," says IRCC.

According to the records, 95,000 PGWPs are about to expire in 2022, and from that, 50,000 PGWP holders are most likely to benefit under the new open work permit.

The Great White North also declared the renewal of its Express Entry draws for Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) candidates in early July to support and help fill the job vacancies over a million in the country.

The maximum majority of applications under the new Express Entry system will be processed with a service standard of six months. Under the IRCC, the current Express Entry processing times range from seven to twenty months.

The flagship point-based program of Canada for permanent immigration is the Express Entry.

The candidates are supposed to submit their applications that directly enter a registration pool and then are ranked. Later draws invite the applicants with the highest points to apply for permanent residence.

For PR Applicants

Finalizing all the endless residence applications before the candidates reapply to extend their temporary status. The candidates who apply for an open work permit in the process of waiting for their application for permanent residency have their permits issued which are valid till the end of 2024. Applicants need not stay in Canada during the process of application.

To help the family reunification, the immediate family member who is included in the primary applicant's PR application outside of Canada will be eligible to acquire their work permit.

The topmost benefactors of the student visas and Permanent Residence are the Indians. The Indian citizens bagged fifty thousand eight hundred forty-one invites to apply for the Canadian permanent residence under the Express Entry program. Nearly 100,000 Indians have become permanent residents of Canada in 2021, as the country submitted a record of 405,000 new immigrants in its report from history.

Currently, there are more than 622,000 international students in Canada, with Indian students tallying up to 217,410, according to the report from December 31st, 2021.
