New Measures Will Not Affect Canada PGWP

International students in Canada who have submitted an application for a study permit before August 31, 2022, will be able to continue to complete their entire program online, without hampering their eligibility for a PGWP. It facilitates international students to work in Canada.

Before the pandemic, students could complete at least 50 percent of their courses online. The time spent studying online, out of Canada was not considered part of their study program, thus affecting their PGWP eligibility.

The study program completed from outside Canada from September 1, 2023, will not be considered from their PGWP requirements, irrespective of when the course began.
