Canada is working on a new fast-track immigration program for foreign workers

Abstract: Canada plans to launch a new program aimed at foreign students and workers to get them a faster Canadian PR.

New fast rack-immigration program

Canada is planning to launch a new speedy immigration program aimed at international students and temporary foreign workers. The new program will act as a permanent pathway for temporary visa holders to aid them in getting the Canada PR or permanent residency.

It will have some similar features to the TR2PR or Temporary Residence to Permanent Residence program. TR2PR facilitated Canada PR for 90,000 international student graduates and essential workers last year.

Temporary Residents in Canada

Studying in a DLI or Designated Learning Institute or having a work experience in Canada can make an individual eligible for the immigration programs. One can come to Canada through these ways and become a temporary resident of Canada.

Pursuing studies in Canada can earn an international student a PGWP or Post-Graduate Work Permit that would help them in employment after graduating and work experience in Canada.

Immigrants can also be employed in Canada through the following programs:

• TFWP or Temporary Foreign Workers Program
• IMP or International Mobility Program

Changes in Express Entry

Canada will start inviting FSWP or Federal Skilled Worker Program and CEC or Canadian Experience Class candidates to submit their applications for permanent residency from July 2022.

Bill C-19 would be passed by the Senate and will soon turn into a Canadian law. The law would give more power to the IRCC or Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. IRCC can invite applicants registered in the pool derived from the economic goals of Canada, such as academic qualifications, labor shortages, or proficiency in French.

IRCC will survey the situation for the process of public consultation to help them select the groups of Express Entry applicants. The applicants will be invited through targeted draws. Additionally, IRCC will be annually reporting to the Parliament, reporting the economic goals required.

Immigration through Express Entry

The management system of Express Entry applications of the four immigration programs of Canada include:

• CEC or Canadian Experience Class
• FSWP or Federal Skilled Worker Program
• FSTP or Federal Skilled Trades Program
• PNP or Provincial Nomination Program

To be included in the pool of Express Entry candidates, the applicant must meet the eligibility requirements for one of the four programs.

After the candidate's inclusion in the pool, they will be awarded a score in the CRS or Comprehensive Ranking System.
