Canada visa applicants will get their passports back by courier

Here’s a Canada immigration update regarding reclaiming your passport from VACs.

Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, passports of Canada visa applicants will be returned only through the courier services offered by the VAC. There’s even a discount of 10% on offer on the courier prices listed in the pricing table of VFS Global.

VFS Global manages a network of Canada VACs as a contract awarded by the Canadian government. The company aims at providing more access and better administrative services to visa applicants. This is achieved through an approach to service delivery that’s consistent. VFS also supports biometric collection.

The services of VFS are exclusive to the Canadian Government. The company is authorized to accept temporary resident applications and applications for travel documents for any Canada PR outside Canada.

VFS delivers services administrative support services like:

• Collecting applications for visas
• Scheduling appointments
• Returning passports to applicants
• Enrolling biometrics

As said in the new update, the discounted rate of 10%, made available since March 23, 2020, is still in effect. If 3 attempts to reach an applicant, VFS will return the passport to the Canadian High Commission.  From there, it will be transmitted to the Ministry of External Affairs.
