The developments of the recent Express Entry

Before the pandemic, the IRCC considered all the immigration candidates in its bi-weekly Express Entry draws inviting the immigration candidates with the highest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores, regardless of their eligibility program.

The pause in FSTP and FSWP was justified because of the pandemic as the IRCC prioritized the CEC candidates to achieve the target goal of welcoming 401,000 new permanent residents by the end of 2021.

Despite that, the outcome of other developments has seen significant growth in applications in IRCC’s inventory. To keep its inventory controlled and improve its Express Entry service standard, the IRCC decided to hold the Express Entry invitations to the CEC candidates in September 2021.

All through the while, the Express Entry invitations to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) immigration candidates have continued through the pandemic as IRCC  has supported the economic development of territories and provinces across the country.

Impact of the all-program draws on the Express Entry candidates

All programs will be open and available for the FSWP, FSTP, and CEC candidates.

From its establishment in 1967 until the pandemic's beginning, the FSWP was the main gateway for the economic class immigrants to enter Canada.

According to the World Education Services (WES) research, one of the Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) providers designated by IRCC, there is high demand for FSWP candidates to proceed with the Canadian immigration process.
