Sean Fraser, the Immigration Minister, stated that Canada is set to welcome new immigration candidates to apply for permanent residents through the Express Entry system that began in July, along with the skilled newcomers who already reside in Canada on temporary status. It has been nine months since Canada's previous draw through the Express Entry system under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program changed in July 2022. The Express Entry program paves an essential pathway for determining the immigrants. According to the latest Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada figure, 36,475 new permanent residents of Canada had settled in the country with the help of the CEC program in 2021.
In the first quarter of 2022, 20,570 new permanent residents were invited under the CEC program, and it is expected that Canada will be inviting 61,710 new permanent residents under the CEC program by the end of 2022.
