Canadian passport is the world’s most highly-ranked

Canada is regularly highlighted among many countries, with the world's most highly-ranked passports and offering visa-free access, which is considered a measure of the freedom of citizens who belong to a country, to 185 destinations.

According to the Henley Index, in 2014, the Canadian passport ranked in the second spot, then dropped to sixth place by 2016, holding the position there for four years. The passport then lost ground relative to other passports, across the globe, in the pandemic period as border closures and public health restrictions have strictly limited travel to other destinations.

The Canadian passport has leveled up to the eighth spot and is holding steady so far compared to the previous year, 2021.
