Canada Express Entry is just days away from implementing a major new systemic change that was declared not long ago. These changes will govern the manner in which IRCC will select immigration candidates for permanent residency. The Immigration Minister of Canada will have a say in deciding which candidates will be chosen, considering their occupations.
The Canadian government has been working on major changes in the Express Entry system in 2022. The shift from NOC 2016 to NOC 2022 (TEER system) was one of those changes that were implemented this year. Learn more about it by visiting “Canada switches NOC levels with TEER categories from Nov. 16, 2022”.
Another major change in Express Entry that was decided will be implemented in 2023. This is the change in how skilled foreign workers will be selected for permanent residence in Canada during a federal immigration draw. Get a basic idea of this by visiting “IRCC to implement Express Entry reforms in the first quarter of 2023”.
In 2023, candidates will be invited through the Express Entry draws on the basis of specific attributes instead of considering their overall CRS score. The benefit this new system brings is that IRCC will now be able to ensure that immigrants who arrive in Canada will be equipped to optimally contribute to the growth of the Canadian economy.
It’s now revealed that skilled foreign workers in the healthcare and tech sector will be given priority in Express Entry draws. The main reason behind this is the high requirement for skilled workers in these job sectors.
Consider the job vacancy rates of these job sectors in Canada. As of September 2022, the job vacancy rate in healthcare in the country was 7.4 percent. In September 2021, this was 6.8 percent. The job vacancy rate in the tech sector was up by 9.6 percent in September 2022. The trends indicate that these sectors will offer even more employment opportunities to skilled foreign workers who immigrate to Canada.
So, if you are employed and experienced in either of these top-priority industries, you could well have your golden opportunity to migrate to the "maple country”.
Here are some major reasons for the changes made to improve the Express Entry system for Canada immigration. The overall aim of these changes has been to improve the inflow of skilled persons into Canada to fill the increasing vacancies in the country’s key industrial sectors.
