Yet another Express Entry draw was held on August 5, 2021, in which 3,000 immigration candidates got invited. They are now one step closer to getting a Canada PR as the invitation called upon them to apply for one.
The candidates who were chosen for invitation were required to have a minimum CRS score of 404 points.
More about the draw
This draw had a tie-break rule applied to it. This means that an administrative requirement was set. In it, candidates who submitted their profiles in the Express Entry pool before a certain date and time were only eligible to be invited. The tie-break rule also comes in handy when there’s a tie between candidates with the same optimal scores, competing for an invitation.
The timestamp applied to this draw was August 3, 2021, at 05:39:26 UTC.
The CEC-only draws
Since the beginning of 2021, Canada has been resorting to conducting immigration draws that take in only candidates belonging to the CEC or PNP programs. The common reason for this trend is that the CEC and PNP candidates are mostly currently available in Canada. They are immune to the difficulties caused by the travel restrictions and other preventive measures imposed by Canada against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Besides, CEC candidates will already have valuable Canadian experience which will be missing in the first-timers migrating to Canada. In critical times like now, Canada has to meet the requirement of skilled foreign workers sooner who will contribute to the economic revival of the country.
About Express Entry
Express Entry is a points-based application management system used by the federal government to manage applications for immigration. These applications are filed for 3 federal high-skilled immigration programs namely CEC, FSTP, and FSWP.
The applicants to Express Entry have their profiles added to a candidate pool that's accessible to both federal and provincial governments. Every candidate profile is ranked by CRS with scores assigned. Factors like age, education, work experience, and skills in Canada’s official language are considered to decide the scores.
When provincial governments choose Express Entry candidates through PNP draws, they automatically add 600 extra points to their original CRS scores. This way, the candidates get a higher score that will increase their chances to get an ITA to the near surety in a forthcoming federal immigration draw.
The highest-scoring Express Entry candidates are invited by IRCC to apply for Canada PR when they take part in regular invitation rounds. Those who are invited can officially apply for Canada immigration.
