Canada immigration points score will greatly influence your chances of immigration to the Maple Leaf Nation. The points are awarded to immigrant applicants based on 6 factors:

Selection Factors Maximum Points

Education 25
Work Experience 15
Age 12
Arranged Employment in Canada 10
Adaptability 10
Total 100

Language Skills

Your entry into the job market in Canada will be assisted by the knowledge of French or English. Maximum 28 points can be obtained by candidates for this factor. This is based on their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

Education

This factor can award a maximum 25 points for immigrant applicants to Canada. Those who possess overseas education must obtain an ECA report from a designated authority. Educational Credential Assessment report assesses the overseas diplomas/degrees for being on par with Canadian education.

Experience

Work experience of candidates also incurs them Canada immigration points. Maximum 15 points can be obtained for this factor. The points are calculated for the number of full-time years of work. This must be paid and having at least 30 hours per week. An equivalent amount of part-time work will also qualify, as quoted by the Canada CA.

Age

The age of the candidates is another factor that will offer points to them. The maximum points that can be gained for this factor are 12. The calculation of age is done from the day the application is received by the appropriate authorities.

Arranged Employment in Canada

Canada immigration points are also offered for a job offer in Canada. This must be for at least 1 year and from an employer in Canada. The offer must have been received by the candidate prior to submission of an application for arriving in Canada. This is as a Federal Skilled Worker.

Adaptability

Relatives in Canada, Language ability at CLB 4 or plus, arranged job offer, or work, and past study are the factors that will incur points to applicants. Additional points will also be incurred for accompanying spouse or common-law-partner to Canada. Points can only be obtained once for each item.
