First Express Entry Draw of 2024: Canada invites 1510 Skilled Workers

Latest Express Entry Draw:

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held another category-based selection Express Entry draw in 2024. The draw invited 1,510 skilled candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 546. IRCC held four Express Entry draws from December 18- 21 the previous year, inviting 1,325 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 546.

 

The draw was an all-program draw and candidates from the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program were invited.

What is an express Entry draw?

Express entry draw is a management system that oversees the three programs through which the candidates are invited. The three programs are:

 

• The Federal Skilled Worker Program
• The Canadian Experience Class 
• The Federal Skilled Trades Program.

 

These three categories use the CRS score to select more candidates based on the human capital system based on language ability, education, work experience, occupation, and age. Each attribute is assigned a score that is ranked against each other.  

 

Immigration Level Plan of Canada for 2024:

The immigration level plan 2024-2026 shows that Canada will invite 110,000 new residents through Express Entry Draw in 2024.

 

Previously, in 2023, 82,880 were issued an invite for Express Entry Draw. IRCC issued more than 100,000 ITAs to Express Entry candidates in 2023. So this year, they want to increase the immigration plan by inviting more candidates.
