Europe to offer flexible visa options starting 2025

Europe is offering better opportunities for skilled workers to migrate and work in the country. The reason behind introducing new visas for professionals is to address the labor shortage in the country. Germany, France, and Portugal are three EU countries that have introduced new pathways for professionals.

The new visa options are set to promote the tourism and hospitality sectors across Germany, France, and Portugal.

Europe introduced new visas for Skilled Workers

Below are the details of three countries that are providing flexible visa options for skilled professionals:

Germany

Germany has introduced the Germany Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) that allows non-EU skilled professionals to migrate and look for jobs in the country for up to one year without any job offer. This visa program helps fill labor shortages in the country and offers skilled workers more access to Germany’s job market.

France

France introduced the Talent Passport Visa as part of the EU Blue Card Scheme, which offers extended residency for skilled professionals. This visa is appropriate for applicants with an employment contract exceeding one year along with a pay scale that is at least 1.5 times (approximately €35,891 annually) more than the average annual income in France. Eligible candidates will receive a residence permit valid for up to four years.

 

Note: Talent passport holders must secure the visa before arrival and have a two-month to apply for their residence permit.
