Countries that ranked in the top ten lists to gain German Citizenship were:

 

• British national ranked as third-largest country
• Romania and Poland was on the fifth position
• Iraq is sixth position
• Italy in the seventh position
• Iran in the eighth position.
• Kosovo ranking in ninth
• Ukraine in tenth

This list also denoted that more than twelve per cent of German citizens were from other EU countries. A total of 80,435 immigrants acquired citizenship of Germany.

 

Germany Immigration increased since 2018:

From 2018-2022, 56,435 immigrants became German citizens, showing an increase of 50.2 per cent.

 

In the past five years, the highest immigration rate has been recorded by 29 per cent.

 

As 2019 data shows, around 16 per cent of the German population accounted for one in six residents. Sixteen federal states have approved new citizenship rules, which have made it easier for non-German nationals to obtain citizenship.

 

The foreigners are allowed to hold dual citizenship, including their original one and German citizenship.

 

The new law enables immigrants who are Turkish citizens to become permanent resident of Germany. Around 50,000 Turkish people have become German citizens.
