The government of Germany has approved a new immigration bill that allows eligibility for migrants residing in the country for years without permanent permission to remain in the country on July 6, 2022.

On July 6, 2022, the government of Germany approved a new immigration bill that allows eligibility for migrants residing in the country for years without permanent permission to remain in the country. The certified new regulation applies to over 136,000 individuals who have lived in Germany for five years by January 1, 2022.

They must earn sufficient money to build an independent life in the country, know and speak Germany and confirm that they are suitable to live in the society.
To acquire permanent residence in Germany, the migrants under the age of 27 must have lived in the country for over three years.
Interior Minister Nancy Faeser stated, “We are in search of well-integrated individuals to get the best opportunities, putting an end to uncertainty and bureaucracy for people who already are a part of our society.”

Through the new migration regulation, all asylum applicants are allowed to enroll and access the language classes, unlike before, when only let asylum-seekers learn German eligible for the classes.
New regulation applicable for skilled workers
The new regulation will permit the skilled laborers who are information technology specialists and other individuals in higher professions to meet the needs of Germany and move together with their families, unlike before. The family members need not have language skills before migrating to the country.
Faeser mentioned that it is integral to lure skilled workers as they are desperately needed by many sectors and have a foothold in Germany.

Other uses of the new regulation The new immigration bill will quickly drive out criminals, including the extension of the detention with pending expulsion for a few criminals from three to six months. The extension is supposed to give the authorities extra time to prepare for exile, like obtaining missing papers, organizing a seat on an airplane, and clarifying identity.
