Do you know that today, Canada is a more preferred destination to immigrate to than even Australia? There are some very strong reasons Canada immigration is more popular than probably any other country’s immigration programs. Here are a few of them:

  • The jobs available in Canada are more diverse than in countries like Australia.
  • The proximity Canada has to the USA makes it more appealing to those dreaming of getting to or closer to America.
  • Both Canada and Australia have a points-based system and hence immigration has similar considerations.

Canada is a very popular option for migration and you could definitely find in Canada many more people who are nationals of your own native country. Moreover, Canada has many pathways that will let you move to the country.

Now, some of you may have already made efforts to move to Canada. You may already be finding it’s taking longer to get selected for immigration to Canada.

Even those who haven’t yet tried to immigrate to Canada would benefit from learning the ways to come up better in the lineup of Canada immigration candidates. Since Canada has a points-based system, CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points decide how well you are positioned in the line of immigration candidates waiting to be invited to Canada.

Even before a profile with the Canada Express Entry system is made, you can plan and improve on your credentials. For this, you must know which all human capital factors can be improved upon. Human capital factors include age, education, work experience, and language skills. These are factors evaluated to decide your selection for Canada immigration.

So, let’s check out the ways in which you can earn more CRS points to have a better shot at a Canada PR visa.

Improve your IELTS score

Language proficiency in the English language is a major factor that makes a big difference in the placement of your profile. IELTS is a standard language skill test for Canada immigration. The higher your IELTS bands the more points that will be assigned to you under the CRS.

But how can you improve your IELTS score? It’s simple! Reappear for the IELTS exam. You can reappear for the IELTS exam any number of times and hence you better utilize the chances to try to get better bands in the exam, leading to more CRS points.

Gain more work experience

Having more relevant work experience can fetch you a bigger CRS score. If you have a previous work experience in Canada, that makes your chances even better. Having experience in occupations that are recognized by Canada’s NOC can be another way of getting a very high CRS score.

Get a job offer from Canada

Having a job offer from Canadian companies can fetch you 50 to 200 CRS points. Job offers from government agencies of Canada or banks also are sure to increase your CRS score considerably.

Get provincially nominated

You can aim to immigrate to Canada via federal or provincial immigration programs. In fact, after your profile is created in a federal immigration pathway system like Express Entry, provinces could find it and nominate you for immigration to that province. This provincial nomination comes along with 600 extra CRS points!

You may apply for provincial nomination after being invited to do so. This is in itself no assurance of successful Canada immigration though. The final decision regarding your immigration to Canada will be made by IRCC. The extra points that you earn with provincial nomination only make your chances better at Canada immigration.
