Details of suspension of US green card

Amazon and Google have announced the suspension of the US Green Card. From 2023; the well-known companies have denied applying for PERM applications.

 

PERM is the Permanent Labour Certification the Department of Labour (DOL) issued. It allows a US-based company to hire a skilled worker for the certain position. PERM is the first step for the US green card, which allows the individual to reside and work in the US permanently.

 

As of now the report revealed that Google, Meta, and Amazon's are facing lay-offs which have made the process harder. Companies that want to dismiss employees have to prove that the employee is not fit for the job, so they want to recruit new international workers.
