USCIS Completes FY 2023 H-1B Selection According to David J Bier, a research fellow in the Cato Institute, the US should not ignore the economic benefits that the H-1B professionals bring in. The visa acts as a pathway for skilled professionals to apply for the ‘green card’ of the US. Data from DHS The data from the DHS or Department of Homeland Security of the US found that 85,000 work visas were issued to the international professionals who had applied for the visa. The median income of the immigrant professionals is approximately 108,000 USD in 2021. Comparatively, the median income of the American workers is 45,760 USD. It happened for the first time ever since the DHS began detailing H-1B income in 2003. The income of H-1B holders has exceeded the 90th percentile of the American population. DHS conducted the lottery of H-1B visas earlier this month. It issued 85,000 work visas to highly skilled international workers. The exact number of international workers who applied for the visa is unknown. It is reported that the demand for H-1B has exceeded the limit once again. For the fiscal year of 2022, USCIS, or United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, processed around 308,613 H-1B applications for the available 85,000 visas. Do you want to migrate to USA?
