International Student Work Permit in Australia

The restrictions for student visa work in Australia were relaxed during the pandemic. It was removed entirely in January 2022 to facilitate primary and secondary holders of student visas to work for 40 hours per fortnight to help in addressing the workforce shortages. The earlier rules will become ineffective on June 30, 2023, and the revised cap will be implemented on all international students, irrespective of when they began to study in Australia. The holders of a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) are eligible for the post-study work benefits.
