The RAI or Restaurants Association of Ireland has stated the hospitality sector has been facing a shortage in the workforce. As per the RAI, Irish restaurants are in need to fill 8,000 vacancies for the job role of Chef.

The General Employment Permit can be applied online, through EPOS or Employment Permit Online System. The candidate or their employer can submit the application.
These are the following steps to apply for Irish General Employment Permit:
After the candidate accesses their EPOS page, they have to select the suitable application form for their Employment Permit. They have to select if they are applying as an employer or an employee.
After the candidate has started their details, like name, passport number, and expiry date. The candidates are issued a unique MyWork-ID number. They can save the progress on their application for General Employment Permit and resume it later.
They will need the MyWork-ID number to access their application.
The documents have to be attached electronically with the application.
