With the new Subclass 491 Visa now being effective, Australia is gearing up for the influx of applications that are expected to be submitted.
Here is the latest update regarding state nomination for Australia:
Victoria
Victoria will accept applications for the Subclass 491 Visa from 9 am of 18th November 2019. Applicants can nominate any occupation that is available on the Skilled Occupation Lists of Australia. Also, Victoria will not charge an application fee for state nomination.
However, all applicants must prove that they have a job offer in their nomination occupation from a designated regional area.
Queensland
Queens is currently not accepting any nomination applications under General Skilled Migration. However, the program is expected to open soon in the coming weeks.
Queensland has removed many occupations from its QSOL. These occupations include:
Onshore and Offshore- Information Technology
Onshore-Accounting
Offshore-Engineering
Tasmania
Tasmania is yet to reveal the eligibility requirements for the new Subclass 491 Visa. The eligibility requirements are expected to be announced soon.
Tasmania will charge an application fee of AUD 220 (Including GST) for both Subclass 190 as well as Subclass 491 applications. The payment is non-refundable and must be paid through a credit card (Masterclass or Visa).
South Australia
South Australia had closed down the state nomination system for the Subclass 190 Visa from 11 am on 15th November to prepare for the Subclass 491 Visa. The state nomination system for both the Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 is expected to open in the first week of December.
New South Wales
NSW has not yet announced when it will start accepting applications for the Subclass 491 Visa. However, RDA Northern Inland NSW which is one of the regional bodies, has announced that it will start accepting Subclass 491 applications by early January 2020.
Northern Territory
The state nomination program for both the Subclass 190 as well as the Subclass 491 Visa will remain closed till 9th December 2019.
Western Australia
Western Australia has started accepting state nomination applications for the Subclass 491 Visa from 16th November. However, it has announced that it will start issuing invitation only after 28th November 2019.
Australian Capital Territory
The ACT has announced that it will start accepting Subclass 491 nomination applications only after 1st January 2020.
The ACT will soon release new eligibility criteria for the Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 Visa on 28th November 2019.
