Requirements for obtaining a Luxembourg Residency Permit:

  • Non-EU citizens, the documentation must be prepared more extensively.

Citizens must obtain a work permit. After a continuous period of three years in Luxembourg, an individual can become a permanent resident in Luxembourg.

 

Residency permit for Non-EU country: 

Non-EU citizens who want to stay in the country for up to three months must opt for a visa. During this time, only a foreign worker can obtain a residency permit by submitting certain documents: 

 

  • A valid passport;
  • Health certificate;
  • Proof of housing and employment;
  • Police record (if applicable).

 

 All documents should be in French, German, or English. 

 

Obtaining a residency permit in Luxembourg in 2023 for working Purposes: 

  • Foreign citizens or non-EU who wants to relocate to Luxembourg for employment purposes must first secure a job in a local company.
  • EU citizens can relocate to Luxembourg without applying for a residency permit during the first three months of living there.
