What is Dubai Retirement Visa?

The Dubai Retirement visa is meant for retired residents aged above 55 years, who are looking for a long-term residence visa to live in Dubai. This visa has a validity of 5 years and is renewable provided you meet the criteria for eligibility.

Eligibility criteria

The visa holder must:

  • make an investment in property via purchase worth AED 2 million
  • have an active income of at least AED 20,000 per month coming from pensions or investments
  • have a minimum financial savings of AED 1 million

Applying for a Dubai Retirement Visa

The method of applying for a Dubai Retirement Visa depends on where you are living.

In case you are living in Dubai right now on a work visa, you need to approach the GDRFA branch in Dubai.

Those who are living outside Dubai may require a Dubai entry visa, after getting which they will be able to apply for the Dubai Retirement Visa.

If you are an Australian national, you don’t need to take any pre-entry visa to enter Dubai. Upon your arrival, you will be granted a 30-day visa.

The GDRFA is in charge of the issuance of UAE visas. This is applicable to Dubai too.
