About Digital Nomad Visas

A digital nomad visa permits visa holders to work remotely in any foreign country. This is a short-term visa and candidates will not become eligible to apply for a PR visa. The visa gives an opportunity to travel and work all around the world. Employers and employees have to be familiar with the tax and regulatory issues before moving to any other location.

Requirements for the digital nomad visa

The requirements for a digital nomad visa are mentioned below:

  • Digital nomad visa application form should be duly filled.
  • Passport
  • Identity pictures
  • Health insurance proof
  • Proof of funds
  • Remote work proof which can include clients, business license, work contract
  • Civil requirements which include a birth certificate, CV, educational qualifications, work experience, etc.

The process to apply for a digital nomad visa is as follows:

Step 2: An appointment should be made with a consulate or embassy.

Step 3: Requirements should be prepared.

Step 4: Application should be submitted.

Candidates having an annual income of $24,000 can apply for this visa and stay in Malaysia. They are also eligible to bring their dependents. The validity of this visa is 3 to 12 months and it can be extended up to one year. This is a multiple-entry visa and applicants have to pay the requisite fee along with proof of employment.
