Manitoba held its latest Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) draw on June 19, 2020.
A total of 181 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) got issued to immigration candidates. They were invited to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence in Canada.
The candidates who received LAAs were eligible under the following streams of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP):
Out of the total invites issued, 10 went to candidates with profiles in the Express Entry system.
In 2020, till now, Manitoba has issued 2,335 LAAs to immigration candidates.
Manitoba instructs immigrant candidates to register an EOI (Expression of Interest) with the MPNP if they want to receive an LAA via the Skilled Workers Overseas categories and Skilled Workers in Manitoba.
The MPNP will then rank the candidates with points assigned out of 1000 points. The ranking is done based on factors like work experience, age, skills in English or French language, and connections in Manitoba.
The minimum score needed for candidates to get an LAA in this draw was 504, under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. These candidates must have a full-time permanent job offer from a Manitoba employer.
Those under Skilled Workers Overseas required to have a minimum score of 686 points. These candidates did not have to be physically present in Manitoba at the time of submitting the application.
Candidates under the International Education stream may get an LAA after graduating from one of Manitoba’s educational institutions. This needs them to have in-demand skills.
