NBPNP candidates to get an invitation from NBCWP

The New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot program can take a maximum of 10% allocation of the overall NBPNP. Recently, the program supported about 300 nominees and their families in 2023.

Advantages of the NBCWP

The New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot program was launched in 2022 as a joint effort between the New Brunswick provincial and federal governments. The objective of this program is to entice newcomers to fill in the gaps in the province's labor force. It is an employer-driven stream of the NBPNP.

The employers under the NBCWP must prove that they can provide the following advantages:

  • To formulate better housing and transportation plans and support the new candidates' establishment. These will ensure the long-term retention of the candidates.
  • To make a comprehensive human resource plan for hiring skilled international talent and on-the-job skills enhancement.
  • To provide 200 hours of language training to the candidates.
  • To offer support to candidates who want to pursue a degree equivalent to Canadian secondary education.

Who can apply to NBCWP?

Below are the eligibility criteria to apply for NBCWP:

  • Candidates must possess a valid job offer from an employer eligible to nominate.
  • Candidates must also have an intention to live in the province.

The New Brunswick provincial government has set the following rules to ensure the job offer has competitive wage rates.

  • The rate paid to workers must be comparable with the equivalent jobs in NB for a similar level of experience.
  • The rate must be consistent with the employer's compensation structure. The wage rate must comply with the following rules:
