The Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador have taken new measures to ease the process of hiring foreign nationals to address the shortage in its labor market. This will be done via the AIP under Canada immigration.
The province’s list of occupations exempted from the testing processes of provincial labor market is already released. One of these processes are Job Vacancy Assessment which is similar to LMIA.It proves that the Canadian employer has exhausted all options to hire a fitting candidate from the local labor market and hence looking for a foreign worker willing to work in Canada to fill the vacant post.
The benefit of the exemption can be enjoyed by the candidate only if they have an offer in an in-demand job.
AIP is a fast-track immigration program that’s employer-driven. The Program lets employers in Canada’s 4 Atlantic provinces to hire foreign nationals to fill vacant posts in in-demand occupations in the region.
