The Canadian Immigration Minister, Sean Fraser, is presently working on introducing a new permanent residence pathway for the undocumented workers in the country.
In the first quarter of 2022, the Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada has estimated a total number of 30,238 asylum seekers. These individuals have entered the country as refugees without any authorized border crossings.

Sean Fraser, the Immigration Minister of Canada is currently working on introducing a new permanent residence pathway for the unauthorized workers in the country.
In December 2021, Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada has advised the Immigration Minister to modernize the existing pilot programs, in order to scrutinize and build more ways to standardize the status of undocumented workers contributing to the communities of Canada.
Since there is not estimated number of the undocumented workers in Canada the further details of this new pathway, cannot be announced. This includes educational and skill levels of the workers or even the number of approved applications.
According to a study from 2010, about half a million individuals have been nationally proposed, but the number from 20,000 to 200,000, has differed amidst the sources.

The Journalists’ Union have insisted a new Canada pathway for the undocumented migrants, since there are a high number of individuals present under this category.
The Journalists’ Union stated, “In order to bring a real change in the lives of over 1.7 million immigrants, who are living without a secure status in the country, a new permanent residency pathway must be introduced to regularize the programs. This new program must be accessible to almost all the people.”
