U.S. introduced New Rules for Immigrants

According to a new U.S. federal rule effective April 11, 2025, all non-citizens aged 18 and older must carry proof of registration every time, regardless of their visa status. This policy was introduced for undocumented people residing in the U.S. on work, student, or travel visas.

The new rule was effective from April 11, 2025, and follows Trump's ideology that mandates all non-citizens in the U.S. for more than 30 days to register with the federal government. Immigrants who fail to comply with the rule can be fined, imprisoned, or even deported to people who are already in the U.S. legally, such as those on H-1B work visas, student visas (F-1), or Employment Authorization Documents (EADs), those with green cards or I-94 admission records are already registered. Still, according to the new rule, you can carry proof of that registration.

U.S. Introduced Strict Compliance Rules

  • Registered Individuals in the U.S. must fulfill the new requirements:
  • Children aged 14 must re-register and submit their fingerprints within 30 days of their birthday.
  • Any change in their address must be reported within 10 days, or else the individual has to pay $5,000 in fines or 30 days in Jail.
  • Non-compliance will risk the ability to stay in the U.S. or re-enter after traveling abroad.
