Details of the Entrepreneur draw

In the latest draw, the immigration of Ontario has sent out 28 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Entrepreneur Stream in which the candidates who have submitted an EOI by August 8, 2022, will be considered eligible under this program.

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued 28 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the provincial Entrepreneur Stream on August 16, 2022.

The candidates who have submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) by August 8, 2022, are made eligible under this specific program. The invitations were sent to the candidates with the CRS score ranging between 138 - 160 points.

Financial Requirements for Entrepreneur Stream of Ontario

1) Net Worth

• A candidate will get an opportunity to be in Greater Toronto Area (GTA), if they proposed a business with a minimum assets worth $800,000. In case the business is outside the GTA, the minimum net worth required is $400,000.
• The proposed business can be either in digital communications or Intra company transfers (ICT) whose minimum assets worth must be $400,000 anywhere in the province.

2) Investment and Ownership

• Finance a minimum of $600,000, on any Ontario business and should have at least 33 percent of the share in case the business is in the GTA.
• Invest $200,000 in a minimum amount if the business is outside the GTA and must own at least 33 percent.
• Finance a minimum of $200,000 in the proposed business, either Intra-company transfers (ICT) or digital communications, and must have at least 33 percent share anywhere in the province.

Non-financial requirements for Entrepreneur Stream of Ontario

• As a business owner or a senior manager, the candidate must possess at least 24 months of fulltime business experience, for the past 60 months.
• The applicant must create a minimum of two full time jobs for the Canadian citizens or the PRs in the proposed business in case the company is located inside the GTA. If the business is outside the GTA, either ICT or digital communications must compose of the full-time job.
• The candidate can make an exploratory visit to Ontario, within five working days during the 12 month period before issuance of Expression of Interest. Provided this works only for those entrepreneurs who are acquiring an existing business.
• Candidates must hold a minimum Canada language Benchmark (CLB) 5 in English or French.
• The entrepreneurs must, be physically residing for a minimum of 75% in Ontario to manage the business.
