Ontario recently held its latest PNP or Provincial Nominee Program. The draw issued 10 ITAs or Invitation to Apply to candidates from the Entrepreneur Stream.

The latest OINP or Ontario Immigration Nominee Program was held on January 27, 2023. It invited candidates with a score ranging from 137 to 162 points.

Financial requirements for the Ontario Entrepreneur Stream

The financial requirements for the OINP Entrepreneur Stream are given below:

• Net Worth

The minimum net worth of the proposed business in the GTA or Greater Toronto Area should be 800,000 CAD. If the business is out of the GTA, the minimum net worth should be 400,000 CAD.

The minimum net worth should be 400,000 CAD if the business is related to digital communications or ICT (Information and Communication Technology). It could be located anywhere in the province.

• Investment and ownership

The candidate should invest a minimum of 600,000 CAD in the business in Ontario and own a minimum of 33% of the business, if it is operational in GTA.

If the business is located out of GTA, there should be an investment of at least 200,000 CAD, and the candidate should own at least 33% of the business.

If the business is related to either digital communications or ICT, the investment should be at least 200,000 CAD, and the candidate should own at least 33% of the business. The business could be located anywhere in the province.

Non-financial requirements for the Ontario Entrepreneur Stream

The non-financial requirements of the Ontario Entrepreneur Stream are:

• A minimum of 24 months of business experience in the last 60 months as a senior manager or an owner.
• Generate 2 full-time job roles for citizens or permanent residents of Canada in the company if established in GTA. Business If the business is established out of GTA or related to either digital communications or ICT, it should create 1 full time job.
• Visit Ontario in the 12 months before the application. It is only applicable to candidates willing to buy an existing business.
• The candidate should score at least CLB 4 in language proficiency in English or French.
• The candidate should be physically residing in Ontario for a minimum of 75% of the time if they manage the business personally.
