Highlights of Ontario updating EOI scoring system as per new NOC codes

  • Ontario immigration updates the scoring system of its Expression of Interest with newly launched NOC/TEER 2021 codes.
  • This new update on codes enhances attracting the candidates who are intended to study or work with top points and improves operational efficiency.
  • OINP states that the profiles of EOI that have been submitted before November 16, must have to submit new profiles by updating NOC 2021 codes.
  • Candidates have to submit a profile before applying for any Ontario immigration-related streams
  • An EOI profile is considered valid for only 12 months or until an invitation is received.
  • The candidates who receive an invitation from Ontario, need to submit the complete application for PR in 14 days.

Ontario updates Canada’s immigration Expression of Interest (EOI) scoring system

Ontario Immigration re-equips its Expression of Interest System in scoring to match Canada’s new National Occupational Classification system (NOC) 2021 codes. This update will boost regional immigration with top points for applicants with study or work experience in Ontario.

These factors of new scores also improve the functional efficiency of the immigration program and its integrity. According to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), the candidates with EOI profiles that are submitted before November 16, must have to submit their profiles with the new NOC 2021 codes.

  • Employer Job Offer: International Student
  • Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills
  • Masters Graduate

Canadian businesses are hurting due to manpower shortages

Important points to take care of applying to the streams.

  • Before registering under any stream, the candidates had to submit their profile to the System of Expression of Interest.
  • Every profile will be scored based on factors including Language ability, education, work experience, and skills in comparison to other profiles.
  • Ontario selects candidates who received invitations to need to submit their applications to one of the streams mentioned above.
  • Profiles that are in the EOI system get updated at any time. An EOI profile is considered valid for 12 months till an invitation is obtained.
  • OINP issues Invitations to Apply (ITA) periodically. Ontario holds draws on a general basis, by inviting the candidates with the highest scores, sometimes targeting candidates who meet certain labor market or human capital requirements.
  • The applicants who have obtained an ITA need to submit a complete application in 14 days.
