PEI conducted its first PNP in 2021 on January 21. It invited 211 new immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.
The distribution of invitations that went to Canada immigration candidates by category was as follows:
All candidates required a minimum of 80 points as the qualifying score to get invited in the draw. The PNP was conducted to meet PEI’s labor market requirement for skilled workers willing to work in Canada. Such PNP draws sometimes do align with the Express Entry system which is the major mechanism of receiving and processing immigration applications in Canada.
The Labor Impact category has foreigners holding valid job offer in PEI along with support from their employer in the province. The category features the streams of Critical Worker, Skilled Worker, and International Graduate.
It’s required of candidates in this category to submit an EOI profile so that they can be considered for nomination by PEI.
Business Impact is that category that has foreign entrepreneurs desiring to own and operate a business in PEI.
