Prince Edward Island, also known as Million-Acre Farm, has conducted a new provincial draw, inviting 136 skilled workers and entrepreneur Canada immigration candidates on June 16, 2022.

The Prince Edward Island conducted a new provincial draw that issued 136 invitations for the skilled workers and entrepreneur Canada immigration candidates on June 16, 2022, through the Labour Impact, Express Entry, and Business Impact Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) streams.

Among these 136 immigration candidates, the invites issued to Labour Impact and Express Entry candidates were 127, and the rest 9 were under the Business impact category and required a minimum score of 65 points.

The Canadian province had planned to hold one draw each month as decided for 2022.

Eligibility criteria for PEI –PNP

To get eligible for the Prince Edward Island Immigration, the candidates must acquire a minimum score which is calculated depending on the factors such as:

• Age
• Education
• Language Proficiency In English or French
• Work Experience

PEI introduced its Expression of Interest system in 2018, which has been making monthly draws since, including some disruption due to the pandemic. PEI sent out 1,933 invites in 2021, compared with 2020 inviting 1,955 candidates.

Prince Edward Island Express Entry Stream

PEI’s Express Entry system considers candidates already existing in the Federal Express Entry Pool for a provincial nomination.

This nomination automatically adds 600 points to a candidate’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and assures an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian immigration.

The PEI Express Entry Category provides two pathways to acquire Canadian permanent residence, one for the candidates with a job offer and one for those without.

Prince Edward Island Business Impact Category (Work Permit Stream)

The candidates who apply under the PEI Work Permit Stream must acquire a Canadian work permit or work for PEI business for a certain period as mentioned in a Performance Agreement.
