Public sector staff pay rise in NSW, Australia

New South Wales, Australia, recently announced significant funding for its public and healthcare sector. The government of Australia has allocated 4.5 billion AUD. The amount is to be given in the next four years.

The state government has raised the wage cap of 2022 after months of reviewing industrial action. It plans to recruit 10,000 staff in the medical sector and a bonus of 3000 dollars for the existing health workers.

A 3% hike in pay for every worker in the public sector of NSW or New South Wales has also been announced.

Plans for the Public Sector

The Australian government has announced the removal of the cap on wages in the public sector. The salary would be increased from 2.5% to 3%. The cap on wages has existed since 2011. It is expected that the salaries will see an increase of 3.5% in 2022.

This move would be beneficial for the people who want to work in Australia.

Plans for the Australian Healthcare Sector

Ten thousand new job posts were announced for the healthcare sector. The government plans to fill 7,600 of the 10,000 vacancies by the following year. The increase in wages includes midwives, paramedics, cleaners, and other permanent staff in the NSW Health Service.

The government of Australia has decided to reward the healthcare workers who worked even in the pandemic with a bonus of 3000 AUD.

Funding of more than 1.75 billion dollars was also announced for the ambulance workers. It aims to employ 2128 workers and 30 new stations.
