Abstract: Canada has relaxed the eligibility criteria for PR for students who did their study courses online. Canada recently announced a relaxation in the rules for eligibility for Canada PR or permanent residency for international students. The students who have completed their courses online between March 2020 to August 2022 will be eligible for Canada PR.
IRCC or Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada has advised the students to update their profiles in the Express Entry system by August 2, 2022, to have a better chance of receiving the ITA or Invitation to Apply.

International students who were enrolled in the universities of Canada had to complete their study programs online due to the pandemic. They will be now eligible for the educational credential points of Canada.

Earlier, online education was not taken into consideration for CRS or Comprehensive Ranking System points if at least 50 percent of the study program was completed online.
